CHRISTIANS UNITE...

The Super Bowl Commercial You Won't See
by Marcia Segelstein

If this being rejected doesnt upset you, go back to Sunday School

NBC television has rejected a pro-life advertisement which Catholicvote.org bought for a slot in the Super Bowl because the ad contains a pro-life message. The 30-second ad features ultrasound pictures from a baby in its mother’s womb.
There is nothing either graphic or political about the 30-second ad and the word abortion is not even used. In fact, no words are spoken, only graphics that appear on-screen

This really upsets me. What has this world come to. Freedom of speach = dont you remember!

AT PEACE

Today Uncle Danny Manuel (a musician and Golden Globe boxer) passed away in his South Carolina home with his immediate family and brother Ronald by his side. Uncle Danny is the only child out of MaMa and PaPa 7 children that doesnt live down south, so the family is taking it hard not being there. Ike is trying to be soo strong. In the car coming home he began to cry, Noah grabbed his hand and said, "dont cry poppa!" Sooo sweet...please say a prayer for the Manuel family in Biloxi. They will be bringing Uncle Danny home to Biloxi on Monday.

MY LITTLE BRAT...

So my perfect angel (hahahaa) turned into a spoil only child bratt tonight. The Executive Chef from the hotel is new to town and needed a babysitter tonight. I volunteered since the boys were similar ages. I had the highest expecations of an amazing night of the two boys playing, trashing the house, bath and then deaux deaux. (wow, i guess that only happens on Mars)

Awaiting David's arrival Noah was totally thrilled. We prepared a table, chairs, plate, fork, and sippy cups. We even ran outside to greet them. While Sara was here, Noah and David were angels. They ate dinner (yeah, the joke is that i served mack and cheese to the chef's son hahahaaaa!) then Noah put his horns on.

The terrible twos came out. He wouldnt listen. He shouldnt share. He took the toys out of David's hand. He was put in time out three times. Unbelievable, a side of Noah I have NEVER seen. He is always outstanding and sharing with other children. It the middle of the third crying fit, I called my mom. She said "HE IS AN ONLY CHILD AND HE IS TWO!" After an hour, he finally came out of his room (by choice) to play with David. The rest of the night was adorable!!!

The slideshow below are our memories!

ps...David was a perfect and poliet angel the whole time - even when Noah threw water on his face in the tub!

TOO COLD...

It has really been cold this week. Really makes days off useless since noone wants to leave the warm and cozy house. Ike had to work today, so Noah and I danced and played. He really wanted to go outside to play on the swings. I let Noah barefoot go outside the second those little toes touched the bricks, "it's too cold!" he said. So I found his washable window markers and we had art time looking outside! We had a blast...until Toot and Puddle came on!

AT PEACE...

My father attended Archbishop Rummel and I attended Archbishop Chapelle High School ('98). I was a second generation Genesian. Mr G was an amazing part of my father and my life. He really inspired the two of us to strive for our dreams and learned true dedication to life. An outstanding gentleman to live on forever in our hearts and memories. (Grease-Ms Lynch-1998)

Charles Guajardo, beloved husband and father, passed away in his home with his family by his side on January 12, 2009. In 1963, Chuck accepted a position at Archbishop Rummel High School where he taught Speech and English for 46 years. At Rummel, not only was he the Chair of the Fine Arts Department, but he also founded the Genesian Players drama club. The club involved students from Archbishop Rummel High School as well as girls from many local schools, including Ursuline Academy, Archbishop Chapelle, Dominican, Mount Carmel and others. "Mr. G" directed over 200 dramas, musicals and comedies, teaching his students every aspect of the theater, from lighting and props to performing center stage. Finally, he is survived by the thousands of students and Genesian Players to whom he dedicated his career, energy and love.

Saturday With the Momma

Ike got called into work on Saturday (roll reversal for a change it wasn't me) so it was just the Momma and Noahbear. I had every intention of playing a little bit, Noah taking a 2 hour nap-with me cleaning and completing laundry, and then a little more QT and Ike would be home - of course that is not what happened AT ALL!

I just couldn't handle another Disney cartoon, so Noah and I ventured on a bike ride to the park. After he attempted his tricycle again, he is just not tall enough to reach the peddles- almost! We ran inside for a potty break and Noah found chalk (I thought for sure I hide it well!) We drew and played! Then I got daring, wasn't sure if Noah would get the concept of HOPSCOTCH! He loved it (or enjoyed watching me hop hop hop!) So the idea of jumping on one foot he didn't get but we started speaking it out hop-hop-hop-two feet-hop. A little more practice and he will be able to throw a rock and really play. Who needs TV for fun filled games!?!?Noah and I painted. He completed this masterpiece and said "Look Momma its beautiful!" I had to frame it. It match the red and black in the den anyway. I have a artist as a son! Ike came home and called it Japanese Art "Mother crane watching her egg"After all this excitement, I was sure Noah was going down for his usual 2 hour nap in order for me to finish the chores before Ike got home. 22 minutes of me putting the kitchen timer on, guess who was up? He came into the den saying Momma I no sleepy, LETS PLAY! Who can resist that! The laundry and house will wait until tomorrow!

TOTALLY THRILLED...

I am absolutely ecstatic. Ike and I have finally decided to breakdown and gather my parents (maybe even my brother and Aunt Denise) and head to DISNEYWORLD! Ike and Noah have never been. We are only going to attempt a 3 day event, but all in all, I am soooo thrilled. So I will already established the countdown clock! and so much more to come!
