A Little Scare

On Thursday, I picked up Noah from school. He had tears in his eyes. His teacher (who puts him in the car) said his foot was sleeping and it scared him.  I dismissed it. Throughout the evening he was not walking as fast and then began to limp. We let him sleep to see if it would pass. Friday morning he woke up and the limp was so bad he fell. He said that there was a pain between the ball of his foot to his heal. He would walk on the very edge of his foot (not his toes) and couldnt lay his foot flat on the ground. We made a Dr appt with his pediatrition. His primary checked him out and couldnt find anything. But then I told the Dr about what happened at school. He immediately sent us to Children's Hospital. He was concerned he needed an xray or it was nerves.  We rushed to the ER at Children's Hospital. After hours of waiting and xrays, they still didnt find anything. They did bring to our attention that he was sooo flat footed and that maybe thats the reason (his arches fell) or if he gets a fever that it could be an infection in his foots lining. So they sent us home with bedrest and mortin.
Well, have you ever bedrest a hyper 4 year old with a 1 year old addicted to my brother sister! Wow, that was a challenge.  By Sunday, my Mom suggested to make him walk....maybe he was fearful of the pain if he did walk correctly. So slowly but surely he began to walk (with several moans and groans) by evening he kicked a ball and ran.  He is returning to school today, with eagle eyes of his teachers. We do have to still get him looked at by a pediatric orthopedist.
We are blessed that it wasnt the worst (because my brain surely was thinking horrible ideas of what it could be). Thanks all for the thoughts and prayers.

• My parents celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary!
• Skylar is fasinated with hide and seek. I love how she says Hide!
• Some how Skylar got into the fridge, opened a yogurt container and dumped it all over herself and the floor...in the middle of it....Noah said she needed a spoon so he gave it to her! oh it was a sight!
• So I have to laugh that my stresses of the mommy day are my daughter hid my keys in the bathroom my debit card in the couch and my drivers license in noah art pail! (wow my world has changed!)
• Skylar got her back top molar teeth (ouch . . . two days of fever for those!)
• funny thing..so once again skylar woke up with me at 430a to sew...i put her in my bed. at 745a while i am sewing i hear noises to i go look. she was in noah's bathroom brushing her teeth! hahaha
• skylar has her 15m shots!! (the time is flying by)
• DESIGN A LATTE, LLC was officially established!

Its Feb and I sooo need to catch up on blogging!

BIG TIME!

I have hit the BIG TIME! I have a new addition to my monogramming and gifts business. It is a 6 needle commerical machine. BUT its been a hassle of the week...LONG STORY SHORT....this is the third machine this week...but i am soo excited to offer new items and larger designs...DESIGN A LATTE is soo excited!

My dearest friends that I am thrilled they moved back from Atlanta are Cory and Huijin Hebert.  Im so honored that they asked  me to be the godmother to their beautiful daughter Macie Kim!
I am soo elated and cant wait for the ceremony later this month!

A NEW JOURNEY

I have decided to make a change in my life. As of yesterday, I have resigned from my 12 year career with Marriott to be a mom.  I discovered that I was missing out on my babies lives. I was putting the hotel first.  I had a wake up call that I need to be home.  So my darling husband crunched the numbers and we found an insurance carrier, and I took the leap of faith.

I know that God will take care of us, for He knows we can be a family.  I am so blessed by those around me supporting my decision.  (and yes, it will make Design A Latte timing shorter!)

So I leave you with this...

I'm a wife to the Poppa, mother of my two angels, career oriented hotel manager, and envious of all a stay at home moms. While multitasking with a coffee always in hand, I continue my passion for design and all things monogrammed.

ACHS Craft Fair

Design A Latte has entered a new journey.  I accomplished my first craft fair at my high school.  It was so exciting, nerve-wrecking, and rewarding.  To hear people say, "thats soo cute!" "oh i like that..." etc is so heartwarming!  I am soo appreciative of my wonderful husband, my sweat-shop owner - my mom, my best friend Kathy and my father so working the booth with me.  The support and love was soo welcoming!
